E S M E B U X T O N P H O T O G R A P H Y

I started photographing when I was 13 years old. My dad had just bought the newest Nikon DSLR and was itching to try it out. He took me and my brother to the seaside so he could really take it for a spin. To my amazement, he let me have a go. Armed with a polariser and not much else, I wondered up and down the beach snapping what interested me. Later that evening when we looked through the photos on Photoshop, my dad was blown away with what he saw. My photos were actually pretty good! I had an instinctual understanding of composition and a great eye for the extraordinary. That day sparked a fire in me that has only grown stronger. I have now been photographing recreationally for 8 years and professionally for 4.

I wouldn't say I have a particular style or preferred subject when it comes to shooting. Photography has always been an instinctual process for me. I want my photos to create an connection with its audience. A beautiful photo is meaningless if it doesn't invoke feeling.

Since my humble beginnings with my dad on the beach at 13, I have gone on to exhibit in Australia and England, win several awards and sell my work to art collectors. Some of my clients include The University of New South Wales, Sydney Fringe Festival and the notorious independent radio station Bondi Beach Radio.

I'm comfortable shooting almost anything. Give me a pregnant lady, or a happy couple on their wedding day, or a series of landscapes for a travel magazine. You give me the brief and I'll bring the magic.
